Angel Henry is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Counseling Specialists of Central Florida and a National Certified Counselor. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master’s of Arts degree in Human Services Counseling from Regent University, as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland University College.

Angel is currently training to become an EMDR therapist and has completed a post-graduate certification in Trauma from Regent University. She is Clinically Trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy Levels I and II. She is a Certified Complex Trauma Professional Levels I and II, Certified DBT Therapist, Certified Anxiety Specialist, Certified Grief Specialist, Certified ADHD Professional, and a Certified Autism Spectrum Specialist.

Her professional experience includes working in non-profit environments with populations dealing with severe and persistent mental health issues, such as schizophrenia, mood disorders, complex trauma, homelessness, and co-occurring disorders. She has also been involved with mandated programs within the court system, including Adult Drug Court, Mental Health Court, and Intensive Outpatient Treatment for adults with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Additionally, Angel has served on the crisis intervention training team for law enforcement agencies regarding mental health and substance use disorders.

She is a U.S. Army veteran with over 22 years of service centered on leadership, management, communication, cultural competencies, and victim advocacy.

Angel specializes in providing integrative approaches to therapy, tailored to meet each client’s unique challenges. This includes using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), relapse prevention strategies, and other holistic and Person-Centered practices. Her focus is to enhance all areas of life (mind, body, and spirit) and enrich the community by promoting improved lifestyles for all individuals.

She specializes in working with adults, couples, and families dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, and divorce & blended family issues.

Angel has been married for over 14 years to her husband Greg. Together, they have a blended family of four adult children and three grandchildren.
