Dr. Heidi M. Jackson

Dr. Heidi M. Jackson is the Clinical Director for Counseling Specialists of Central Florida. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor MHC with the State of Florida. She graduated Suma Cum Laude with her PhD in Clinical Sexology through the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists, her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Interpersonal Communications from the University of Central Florida.

Dr. Jackson is a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S) through the National Association for Play Therapy and completed a post-graduate certification in Play Therapy from the University of Central Florida. As a Sandtray Therapist, she has completed extensive post-graduate trainings from numerous organizations throughout the US.

She is a Board-Certified Sex Therapist, EMDR trained trauma therapist, Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator for couples and families, Adult and Juvenile Forensic Evaluator, a Qualified Parent Coordinator, and a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family, County Court, and Appellate Mediator.

Dr. Jackson has also completed additional certifications in Anxiety (CCATP), Grief (CAGCS), Complex Trauma (CCTP/CCTP-II), and Autism (ASDCS).

She has worked extensively in both non-profit and for-profit environments with special populations including trauma, self-harm, neurodevelopmental disorders including schizophrenia, domestic violence, and with government affiliates including active and inactive military, law enforcement, and first responders. Dr. Jackson has worked for residential treatment centers for children, adolescents, and adults suffering from severe cases of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Dr. Jackson specializes in working with those dealing with severe trauma (including grief/loss, abuse, rape, and PTSD), anxiety (including phobias and OCD), depression, mood disorders, and neurodevelopment disorders (including ADD/ADHD and autism). She regularly helps families through various legal and mediation stressors as well as helping parents and their children navigate homeschool, dual enrollment, and educational challenges.

She has been married for more than 25 years to her husband Ken Jackson. Together, they have three children who are in their late teens and early twenties.
